Obstacles Detector KIT

A playful tool that translates the "legal codes" that are "technical requirements" into a friendlier language, easy to understand by everyone, when we talk about ACCESSIBILITY and UNIVERSAL DESIGN.

May / 2.016

It contributes to the knowledge of citizens and their role as guardians of the public space.

To empower. Because knowledge is power.

It is a "do it yourself" PEDESTRIAN AUDIT.

It is a small box that fits in our pockets while walking around the city.

It contains a few items: a plastic cap, string, chalk, and some instructions.

These are not exact measurements... but enough to have a SPATIAL IDEA of what is needed to ensure equality in the right to the city for the greatest number of people.

TThe intention is to serve as a trigger project, mental impact, encouraging debate on urban issues; seeking to raise citizen awareness.

"Making City" beyond its physical definition, building from the immaterial and intangible to changing attitudes.

First is the mental impact ... to move towards the physical impact.

KIT as OCARA Lab

(Available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese)

Red OCARA develops the subproject OCARA Lab, a laboratory that works in network with creative experiences of collective action. OCARA Lab, with OSE format (Free Online Educational Resources), aims to be easily accessible and applicable in all urban realities collaborating with the network.
