Static Movement
Project for the Petrobras Award in the Arte BA exhibition (Buenos Aires) - 2009 edition.

Paradoxical and absurd expression... moving and standing at the same time? Transferring, repositioning without having to step, going beyond what is possible. Virtually achieving freedom
Often we isolate ourselves by choice or because there is no other option, in a private place, surviving within the walls of a room.
Reaching the outside from the inside is the main idea of this proposal.
Static Movement is an installation whose main protagonists are the periscopes with which we can see the inaccessible, look into other worlds and transport ourselves to other spaces without moving while remaining in the same place.
This metaphor, alluding to an optical instrument, gives us the possibility to "periscope" the world and look at the "other side", to discover that in the end those places that sometimes seem so far away are at our fingertips.
The installation recreates a bedroom in use, from which "Periscopic-Flowers” sprout in different areas.
…Perhaps our ancestors "periscoped" the sky through the flowers...
